(K)nights of Blades & Barrels
Terms and Conditions
1 Applicability of the general terms and conditions
The following general terms and conditions (GTC) apply to all contracts between (K)nights of Blades & Barrels and its participants, unless otherwise agreed in individual cases. Participants (hereinafter referred to as “you”) are defined as all persons who are/will be authorized by (K)nights of Blades & Barrels (hereinafter referred to as “we”) to take advantage of the event offerings in accordance with Section 2. These GTC are accepted upon registration and with each participation in the event.
2 Contract conclusion and booking
Contracts between us and you are concluded in accordance with §§ 145 ff. BGB (German Civil Code) through offer and acceptance. As soon as you register for or book the event we offer, this constitutes a binding offer on your part to conclude a corresponding contract within the meaning of § 145 BGB. Registration/booking is primarily done via the online platform or in writing, including by email. Payment must be made before the start of the course.
We accept your offer by sending you a registration or payment confirmation by email. Unless otherwise agreed in specific cases, you are only entitled to participate in the event if you have paid the corresponding invoice amount in full.
3 Costs and Payment
The event costs can be found on the website. The costs are recalculated each year so that we can organize the event in a cost-effective manner. We operate exclusively on a voluntary basis and do not generate any profit. However, if a profit is generated, e.g. through donations, this amount will be divided among the invited course instructors as an expense allowance.
The price includes participation in the event from Friday to Sunday, all workshops, accommodation at the castle, full board (excluding coffee/tea outside breakfast times and “personal extras” from, for example, the castle kiosk), a welcome drink, a tour of the castle, and the whisky tasting on Saturday evening.
The participation fee is due no later than two weeks before the event, unless otherwise agreed. The amount must be transferred to the account specified in the registration confirmation.
4 Cancellation, Withdrawal and Non-Participation
Cancellations can only be made by emailing “knightsofbnb@web.de”. Cancellation of participation is free of charge up to two weeks in advance. After that, the full fee is due in full. If you are unable to attend the event you have booked and paid for at short notice, you have the option of transferring your place to another person. This requires timely notification to the above-mentioned email address at least 24 hours before the start of the event.
The statutory rights of termination and withdrawal remain unaffected.
5 Liability
1. The courses are conducted to the best of our knowledge and belief. It is the responsibility of each participant to decide for themselves whether participation in the courses is compatible with their physical and mental condition. In case of doubt, prior consultation with a doctor is recommended. Use of the facilities, courses, and services is at the user's own risk. By registering, each participant certifies that there are no health concerns that would prevent them from participating in the courses or workshops. In your own interest, please inform the course instructor of any existing illnesses, complaints, or pregnancy. 2. No liability is accepted for injuries or damage of any kind. 3. We also point out that first responders cannot be held liable. 4. If the event is canceled for reasons beyond our control, there is no claim for damages beyond the refund of the participation fee.
5. No liability is accepted for property and valuables.
6. Any further liability is excluded.
6 Side agreements
Amendments and additions, including to this provision, must be in writing.
e.g. via email.
7 Terms and Conditions of Participation
Participants must be at least 18 years old. The number of places is limited. By registering, you agree to our Code of Conduct and our Safety Rules. For the entire duration of the event, the instructions of the organisers must be followed.
8 Alcohol
Please drink alcohol responsibly and know your personal limits. We explicitly point out that fencing while under the influence of alcohol is prohibited.
As soon as the whisky bottles are opened, the weapons disappear into pockets without exception! Workshops and evening programmes take place in designated separate rooms.
We strongly advise against participating in the event if you are pregnant.
9 Photos and videos
Film and photo recordings will be made during the event. By registering, you agree to the recordings and transfer the corresponding image, sound and exploitation rights. The recordings will be used exclusively for the presentation and promotion of ‘(K)nights of Blades and Barrels’.

11 Severability Clause
Should individual provisions of our General Terms and Conditions be or become invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. In this case, the invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a provision that comes closest to the original provision in terms of content, economic and legal effect. The same applies to contractual loopholes.
